Addressing Health Issues With Herbs
If you are like most folks, you grew up with virtually no knowledge of any kind of medical treatment other than traditional medicine. Today, we have options, viable options. If you have been led to our website then perhaps the small voice inside is telling you that when it comes to your health issues, you do have choices.
I can honestly say that over the last 20 years, both professionally and personally, I have not found a health issues that could not either be resolved or at least mitigated with an herbal formula. That is not to say that in some situations such as high blood pressure, traditional medicine may need to intervene. You may need prescription medications to lower you blood pressure otherwise the risks are dangerous. What is important to understand is that high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, migraines, fibromyalgia, Crohn's, irritable bowel syndrome, insomnia, breast disease, menopause, hayfever and premenstrual issues and the like do not just show up over night. These problems come over time. When they finally overwhelm the individual they go to the doctor for an intervention, usually a drug and sometimes surgery. The trick to avoiding having the issues show up at all is keeping the body in balance.
Here's how an herbalist or an acupuncturist trained in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) looks at what medical doctors consider disease. When I have a client come to me with say Crohn's Disease. To me the actual medical disease is a pattern. If you resolve the disharmony in the pattern, the issue will resolve itself. You can think of it as an onion, when you start peeling away the skin (the symptoms) and start resolving the root cause(s), the problem usually resolves itself. In the case of Crohn's, the herbal formulas can resolve liver stagnation and strengthen the spleen. Resolve the liver-spleen disharmony and you have a shot at resolving the root cause issues. Having a heightened sensitivity of the GI tract means that stress, overeating sugars and sweets, obsessive thinking, too much fatigue and too little exercise. Together these factors lead to a liver-spleen disharmony.
What I would offer the client presenting this pattern would be a formula or formulas to rectify this disharmony. The client would need to make the lifestyle corrections that are causing the disharmony. If both approachs happen quickly, the health issue can be eliminated or at least minimized! The client now has the knowledge to see what is happening in their life to cause the health issue and has an herbal backup without side effects that they know will work.
Of course I have simplified an herbal evaluation for the sake of this article. An evaluation does involve an iridology evaluation, face reading, pulse reading, tongue evaluation and a robust discussion with the client, all this taking place over about an hours time. Regardless of the health challenge, the same 2,500 year old process takes place when you work with an herbalist or an acupuncturist. Although this process may seem similar to what happens at a medical doctor office visit, the overall approach is completely different. A TCM evaluation takes into account the entire person, mind - body and spirit. EVERYTHING a client has to offer, both said and not said, body english, odor, skin color / texture, clarity of thought and speech and even the feel of the energy they have about them means something.
Click on the links to specific health issues and I will share some alternative approachs to resolving them. To many these approachs may seem strange, as we are use to the modern medicine high tech equipment and prescription drug ads on television. Always remember that billions of people in our time are using these approaches to resolve their health issues, that governments such as the Japanese Healthcare System pays for over 200 herbal formulas that are used by their citizens. Knowledge is power, when you use this knowledge for good purposes, it turns into wisdom!
